DISTRIBUTED PROXIMITIES


A typographic identity for ACADIA’s 2020 conference, Distributed Proximities. The event utilizes complicated circumstances in order to view problems through a new lens, making the best of an unfamiliar situation in the spirit of innovation. In a similar light, this identity unifies unlike parts to reach a unique design solution. This reimagined conference identity was created as an exercise for my advanced typography class.

RAPTURE


A custom typeface inspired by the print culture associated with the RIOT GRRRL movement of the early ‘90s. Rapture borrows aesthetics from gothic blackletter, cut paper and zines from the punk scene.

WASABI SUSHI


Menu design for Wasabi (a local sushi restaurant) as a project for my typographic systems class. The menu included separate sizes of cut colored paper with green text and illustration.

Creative direction for Thread Threads, an emerging startup focused on sustainability and storytelling through clothing. Includes pre-launch poster campaign and photography to promote brand awareness. Created in collaboration with founder Abby Hollis.

HANDLED


My current role at Handled as a junior brand designer involves multifaceted work that requires an in-depth knowledge of the Handled brand, including typography, color palette, illustration and brand voice. I’ve been working with Handled since its launch in August 2019 and have become extremely intimate with the brand through the creation of various assets across online and print platforms.

LOCAL WOLVES


Spreads designed for Local Wolves, an independent digital and print magazine pioneered by California native Catherine Khom. While on the Local Wolves team, I drafted layouts for spreads featuring up-and-coming creatives and worked remotely with a diverse team of young designers, illustrators + writers.

LA FEMME


A photo series inspired by French cinema and the complexity of the female experience. Using faceless portraiture, I aimed to create something that challenges my previous photo work and abstracts the idea of constructed femininity into unique and disorienting compositions of each subject.

RESEARCH ZINE


A twenty-page zine designed for my Greek Art and Archaeology class that explores parallels between ancient and contemporary bodies and the modern infatuation with the Greek world. This project was accompanied by a short paper explaining the context + meaning of the zine.

CREATING SERIES


An exercise in creating a body of work for my digital photography class. By constructing a narrative around each piece of intimate clothing, I aimed to communicate the odd discrepancies between public and private life and convey a concept that is typically considered taboo.

Releaf is a project that focuses on the perception of medical marijuana use. Rather than taking a traditional approach, Releaf seeks to innovate with the unexpected and draw the eye with bold colors, graphics and type. In the midst of a global crisis, pleasure may seem like a luxury. It doesn’t have to be. A self-initiated design project that compiles information on safe sex practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. Showcases select work by fellow student creatives, printed on 11x17 newsprint by Newspaper Club.

TRANSPARENCY


An exercise in exposing the amount of time dedicated to developing a social media presence during my month abroad. With this project, I aimed to unmask some elements of the superficial image I created during my time in Italy by providing a look into the strenuous, often ridiculous process behind each of my Instagram posts.
